Classroom Presentations

The Psychology Outreach Program is working with local schools to teach students all about the brain: how it works, how to keep it healthy, and how it shapes the way we experience the world around us. Through our Classroom Presentations program, we aim to provide your students with an interactive, classroom-based field trip experience to inspire their curiosity about psychology and the brain!

A UVA professor or graduate student will work with you to schedule a visit with your students (either virtually via Zoom or in person depending on your preference) and lead them through a 30-45 minute mini-lesson and hands-on activity about a psychology topic of your choice.

In alignment with the State's education goals, we hope that these presentations help students to better understand scientific practices by demonstrating how psychologists use the research process to 1) ask questions and define problems; 2) plan and carry out investigations; 3) interpret, analyze, and evaluate data; and 4) come to conclusions about cause and effect and how the human brain functions.
